On behalf of our staff, students and community, I want to give you a very warm welcome to our school.
We invite you to join a school which is proud of the many achievements of previous students throughout our long history within the region. This is a secondary college which has taken its place with pride and distinction alongside other quality Tasmanian schools. I urge you to consider us as your local school and to encourage your child to become a member of our school community. Your child’s uniqueness will be valued and celebrated here. We have a lot to offer you and extend an invitation for your child to join our fine school.
Our commitment to connect with your child starts well before day one. We spend time building relationships with our new students in year five and six, prior to their official orientation program, and all students are assisted to develop a Personal Learning Plan as soon as they commence Grade 7. This enables our teaching team to tailor learning opportunities to your child’s interests and needs, and to provide extension or support in all areas of the academic program in partnership with you.
We inspire all students through our outstanding educational programs, combining an engaging approach to teaching Australian Curriculum content with essential skills and capabilities for 21st century learning. This means that all students develop fluencies in ICT, critical thinking, creativity and design, collaborative skills, and global citizenship.
These skills prepare our students to be successful lifelong learners and to achieve success in a changing and fast paced world. Whatever their interests, abilities and skills, all students at Bayview Secondary College are supported towards their own pathway into the world of work, future training and study.
We have a personalised approach to learning, where students can participate in a large variety of extra-curricular offerings. We have exceptionally talented and dedicated staff and volunteers who support students to achieve a high standard of performance across many learning areas.
We are a part of the teggana Collective – supporting every student to achieve a qualification or attainment of year 12. Students can access courses from a variety of campuses for years 11 and 12, including Rosny College, here at Bayview, or perhaps a dual enrolment.
I would like to invite you to tour our school facilities, to see what we have to offer, and to meet our wonderful staff team, prior to enrolment. I know you will be impressed with what you see.
